Each song is like a return to her origins, to the music she heard as a child. Born to a Belgian mother and a Moroccan father, she grew up listening to Nass El Ghiwane and Oum Kalthoum. Today, oscillating between nostalgia for the great Lebanese singers such as Fairuz and the psychedelic sounds of Baba Zula, she shares her musical explorations with both novice and initiated ears. In her mixes, she also likes to slip in little nods to belly dance music and Yma Sumac, of whom she is an assiduous collector. https://soundcloud.com/monstera-occulta Xogn musical culture swings somewhere between Brussels and Dakar. Dj-selector/party organizer/record dealer, he spent 10 years in Senegal. He run a music store, organized a monthly party and had radio shows there. Step by step, African music has become a real passion.
